Tis the season to be jolly and messy!

Hello all,

I am hope you are all well and are enjoying the first few days of the Christmas Holidays – only 2 more sleeps until Christmas Day, Jesus’ birthday – how exciting is that!

Over the last few weeks in The Rock Kid’s Ministry we have been super immersed in Christmassy fun. Here are some photos from our recent events:

Illuminate Christmas Social – Bowling

Our group for all in year 4 &5 that meet on a Monday went to Hollywood Bowl for our Christmas Social. They completely smashed us leaders, despite us all having the barriers up may I add!

I love watching this group grow in community, learning to love and respect one another and understanding how they are so special and loved by God. Looking forward to 2016 with them!

Lighthouse Christmas Social

Lighthouse has grown this year to a group of around 20 children from year 1 to year 3. We meet afterschool for an hour on Wednesdays.

For our social we started with some crazy christmas games involving a lot of toilet roll! We first had a Snowman making competition; in teams making one of the children into a snowman. Here are some of the results!

Then all the toilet roll was used in one huge ‘snowball’ fight. It got prett competive!

We then quieten down and made Christmas Cards for Tracy, our lovely Pastoral Care Coordinator, to attach to biscuits which the rest of the Church had brought in to give to members of our local community which find church a little lonely.

And then we came together to watch Shrek The Halls with some popcorn – cinema style! All in all it was a crazy, fun, christmassy filled Lighthouse! Look forward to seeing you all in 2016!

FFF Christmas Celebration

Every Friday evening a group of us meet at Arnett Hills Primary School for FFF! FFF stands for Fun with Friends and Friday. We learn all about Jesus, for some of us for the first time, play lots of games and have loads of fun. This term we have been looking at promises God makes throughout the Bible.

But at the end of term we put on our FFF Christmas Celebration – our weird and wacky way of telling the christmas story which we then show to all the FFF parents/guardians/grandparents. This year, a group of alien landed in FFF Christmas rehearsal, (which was going horribly wrong! – One of the wise men ended up being Frankinsien rather than bringing some frankinsence!). So in the aliens and the children used the alien’s space ship to travel back in time to discover what really happened at the first Christmas!

It was great fun, everyone was so brillaint in all there roles, and some lovely people from Christ Church made lots of cakes and made tea afterwards.
