Jesus, the prophet from Galilee?
v10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
It would be highly unlikely to be asked the question, “Who is this?” by one of the crowd on a day when the Queen passed by in her carriage. Yet, despite his miracles and teaching, it seems that there were those who just didn’t know who Jesus was. It was possible that there were pilgrims from Galilee who knew where he came from, so that the answer given was merely ‘the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee’.
Most people today have heard of Jesus and many would give a similar answer to that same question: Jesus is a good man; a prophet; a healer. However, would we be ready to express succinctly to others what Jesus means to us and who he really is by words of testimony and experience? It’s good to think what we might say.
Lord, Saviour, King, the lover of my soul, help me to be ready to tell others who you are, by speaking of your acts of grace and of your overwhelming love. Amen.
