We have been rescued

vv.3-4 …the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age.

Do you enjoy reading stories in the news about people who have been rescued from death, perhaps a driver pulled from a burning car or a drowning sailor plucked from the sea?  In these opening verses of Galatians, Paul says that we also have been rescued – by the Lord Jesus Christ.  He rescues us from the power of evil in the world around us today and from the punishment of our sins in the future.

When people are rescued, they often cry with joy and hug those that have saved them.  Surely we also should never cease to praise and thank Jesus for what He has done for us?

Thank you Lord for saving me! Amen.
