C4R#BOOTS1000:- YOU gave, WE bought, THEY distributed

Wonderful combined teams came together last weekend to get new waterproof boots to Refugees living rough in Calais. Our first batch were distributed with care & kindness, with thought & consideration. Music played while feet were warmed by fires, generators brought in for charging phones, foot measuring & washing offered and any medical foot conditions taken care of. Sandals & crocs, soggy trainers & socks were all replaced to provide something that will keep their feet warm and dry during the winter months ahead.

So far 400 pairs of boots have been purchased, but we would love to deliver the remaining 600 before temperatures drop further. Give a little hope and warmth by helping us get to 1000 pairs – after all, not one of us could walk a mile in their shoes.

Our Fundraising Event at Rootz on Friday 8 December

We have been busy setting up a “Curryoke fundraising event at Rootz Restaurant in Chorleywood on the evening of Friday 8 December. Tickets are £20.00 per person with all proceeds going towards our current #Boots1000 campaign.

To reserve your tickets, please send an email to Katherine Cook

If you are not able to make it along for the evening, but would like to make a donation, please use this link:

“Barrels of Love”

We are offering local schools the opportunity to use these strong cardboard barrels as Christmas Posting Boxes and “Post Sox” Boxes for donations of socks.

The Chorleywood Film Club has kindly agreed to give us opportunities to raise awareness and funds at their normal monthly event on Friday 15 June to mark the start of Refugee Week 2018

The Chorleywood Bookshop has kindly agreed to give us the exclusive use of their window space during Refugee Week 2018 (18-24 June). Our first thoughts are to invite local schools to prepare some artwork for these windows.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could share this information with your friends, neighbours, relatives and colleagues.
