Prayer

Prayer lies at the heart of all we do at Christ Church – and we would love for all our members to join us in prayer, whether at the church, around the parish, or through individual prayer times in our daily lives.

Prayer in our Sunday Services

Each of our Sunday services include times of corporate prayer, as across the services we pray for the needs of our world, the church, local needs, and our own individual needs.

At all our services we have people who are available to spend time praying alongside anyone for whatever issues or concerns may be on your mind.  Please do ask at the service itself, if this is something that would be helpful to you.

And do join us as we to pray for people and needs across our congregation by using our Prayer Diary (available at the church); or why not jot a request and add it to our Prayer Board in the prayer area at the back of church?

Prayer at other times during the week

As well as in our main services, Christ Church members come together pray at different times and places each week. Exact details may vary a little at holiday times or for other reasons, so please do call the office (01923 282149) to check latest information.  But our general pattern for prayer, in which we welcome all who want to join us, includes:

Morning prayer

•9am-9.30am, each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the church
•9am-10am for Tuesday listening prayer in the Church, as we reflect silently on scripture

Input – monthly prayer meeting in the church - Second Tuesday of each month

•7.45pm – coffee
•8pm-9.30pm – prayer for the church and the world including our mission partners

The Church is also open for individual prayer and reflection 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Prayer Ministry

Sylvia Mann & Brian Smith jointly co-ordinate Christ Church’s arrangements for prayer ministry.  We encourage you to come forward for prayer after any of the services in confidence and with the knowledge that confidentiality is respected.  You may need prayer for God’s help and guidance or to give thanks and praise – we love to pray for and with others in our Father’s name.  If you have specific queries about prayer ministry please contact the Church Office in the first instance.

Home Groups

... provide a great setting both for prayer for the church, and for sharing and praying for individual group members’ prayer requests.  Home groups meet at a variety of times, both during the day and in evenings.
