IMPACT Youth Ministry
Vision
A community of young disciples, rooted and established in relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, equipped to serve the Lord with a glad heart because of His love for them.
Youth Ministry is highly valued at Christ Church and it shows in the passion the young people have to know the Lord and in the way they encourage the rest of the body to seek Him more. Our young people are an incredibly friendly community and welcome newcomers openly at any of our meetings.
IMPACT meets in a number of groups each week:
Rock Solid
For school years 6-9 (ages 10-14). This dynamic group is full of energy and the joy of the Lord. We meet nearly every Sunday from 10:30 – 11:45 at Christ Church School for worship, Biblical teaching, and fellowship. The 1st Sunday of the month we join the 10:30 assembly at Christ Church for an all-age service which several Rock Solid youth are involved in leading. Also, once a term we get the chance to lead the 10:30 service at Christ Church which gives the young people the opportunity to have a go at preaching, leading sung worship, welcoming or praying for people, and all the other stuff of a corporate worship service.
Rock Solid has a social event once a month as an opportunity to bring along friends and also just to have a good time together. These socials range from trips to the bowling alley or theme parks to dodge ball tournaments at the church.
Each year in August, young people from Rock Solid join with several other churches from around the area at Latimer Park for a residential week called Resonate.
Going Deeper
Our mid-week group for Rock Solid age young people, Going Deeper is an incredibly fun group who really enjoy a game of dodge ball or sardines in the Church. As the name suggests a significant portion of these evenings are spent in Bible Study and small groups with an emphasis on increasing our knowledge of the Lord and being changed as we encounter Him. We meet Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:00 at Christ Church
YPF
For school years 10-13 (ages 14-18). YPF is an exciting and fun group of young people seeking to know God more. Our main meeting is on Wednesday nights for fellowship, worship, Bible Study, and a really good time. These meetings take place either at the Church or at a few homes of young people who have graciously agreed to host us from time to time. If you are interested give Bob a text or call, we’ll even be happy to give you a lift so that you don’t have to walk into your first meeting alone.
YPF also have social events once a month which range from paintball to concerts. We go away for a week in the summer for the YPF summer holiday which is becoming increasingly focused on missions work and is a great opportunity to bond and grow together as a group.
Cafe Fusion
For all of Impact. Sunday nights from 8:30 a part of Christ Church is turned into a café where the young people can hang out following the evening service. Often there are events like open mic nights or quizzes, but the focus of the evening is just to have some time to hang out together. A great place to bring friends or come for the first time.
IMPACT Events
From time to time there are worship evenings specifically for all of IMPACT. These worship nights are usually held at Christ Church and are a great opportunity for all of our young people to be united as we focus on the Lord together. We don’t do this every week because we want our young people to feel a part of the overall church – the 7pm service at Christ Church is very youth friendly and many aspects of the service are led by young people.
IMPACT Weekend Away
This year in March all of Impact went away together for the IMPACT Weekend Away. These are always amazing times of meeting with God and many young people look back at these weekends as formative times in their faith.
