Impact Youth Ministry exist to share the way of Jesus with our friends and family, to show them His love and to grow passionate followers of God who seek to worship Him with their whole lives.
Just this morning I was talking to Brian Smith, who comes to the evening service, about the importance of taking time to look back and remember and celebrate all that God’s done in our lives. Here’s the verse of the day for today, from one of the many apps! It’s a really appropriate for me, as the seasons are changing and we’re preparing to welcome our little baby girl into the world. But I thought it was a helpful reminder for all of us.
Today’s verse of the day, from one of the many apps, says:
Be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. 1 Samuel 12:24
So why not join me in finding a few quiet moments today or some point this week to consider what great things God has done for in our lives!
Loads of love, Fiona
Impact youth this week:
Football (year 10-13) – Monday 23rd November
Where: St. Clement Danes Astroturf
When: 6:00 – 7:00 pm
This is a joint venture with St. Andrews Church. We’re currently running just one pitch, for young people in year 8 and up. It’s a great place to run off some extra energy, build friendships and encourage each other.
Going Deeper (year 6-9) – Tuesday 24th November
I think after eating over 10 chilli’s last week, poor Freddie might have only just recovered. Do you think we should go a bit easier on the interns this week? The true story from the Bible this week is in Acts 3 where Peter heals a beggar. Our seminar discussions will be: ‘What’s the greatest miracle of all?’ / ‘Does God still heal today?’ and ‘Will God work miracles through me?’
Where: Christ Church – The Junction
When: 6.30pm – 8.00pm
Going Deeper is a great place to catch up with mates, make new friends, hang out, and meet with Jesus!
YPF (year 10-13) @ the Junction – Wednesday 18th November
YPF is at the Junction this week. Immie and Montana are leading the session, with Maddie leading worship and Zander speaking from Daniel chapters 1 & 2. I’m really looking forward to catching up with you guys and being led by these guys. I hope you can come.
When: 7.30 – 9.30pm
YPF are a group of young people who love God and love each other. We meet together to hang out, worship, listen to God speak through His Word and respond to Him.
Rock Solid – Sunday 29th November
This week ‘challenge Sam’ involves giant pants and balloons. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination until Sunday!! The Bible discussions will be on King Josiah. He didn’t come from a happy Christian home. According to the Bible, his father and his granddad were actually wicked. And yet, Josiah began to think about God when he was a teenager and he made his own decision to seek after God. As king, he puts the worship of God back at the centre of the nation. We are fortunate enough to have great role models as parents, but as we grow up we still have to consider what choices we’ll make for ourselves. We’ll be thinking about that a little this week.
Rock Solid normally meet Sunday mornings during the 10.30 service. Rock Solid is designed to be fun, to nurture friendships and to help young people own their faith and grow in it.
Church & Café Fusion – Sunday 29th November
The passage for this week is Exodus 24:1-18 ‘God’s covenant is confirmed and his glory revealed’ and James Dwyer will be preaching. We’ll have cafe fusion as usual again.
Where: Christ Church
When: Service starts at 6.30 pm. Cafe Fusion is after the evening service, 7.45 – 8.45.
This is a great place to catch up with each other before you start the week.
