IMPACT YOUTH this week (Monday 18th January)

Wonder what we’re all about?

Impact Youth Ministry exist to share the way of Jesus with our friends and family, to show them His love and to grow passionate followers of God who seek to worship Him with their whole lives.

Hello Impact youth and it’s friends,

I’ve been working through a daily bible study series written by a renowned church leader in the 19th century, Charles Spurgeon. The passage for today was Luke 24, the scene where we find the now resurrected Jesus walking with two of his disciples and teaching them all about who he is, using stories from the Old Testament to do it. This is amazing to Spurgeon, and to me too, because these guys had Jesus himself, God on earth, walking them through a part of the bible we still have today!  That must have been incredible! I don’t know about you, but my instinct is feel more than a bit jealous of that moment. What Spurgeon points out next though, is simply beautiful when you stop to think about it. He says this.

The favoured pair were led to consider the best of subjects, for Jesus spake of Jesus, and expounded the things concerning himself. Here the diamond cut the diamond, and what could be more admirable? The Master of the House unlocked his own doors, conducted the guests to his table, and placed his own dainties upon it. He who hid the treasure in the field himself guided the searchers to it. Our Lord would naturally discourse upon the sweetest of topics, and he could find none sweeter than his own person and work: with an eye to these we should always search the Word. O for grace to study the Bible with Jesus as both our teacher and our lesson!

We can sit down with Jesus, and study the bible with him! Just by asking, we can have our God walk us through the bible and show us all there is to see there about him. We just have to ask.

As always, if there’s anything you’d like us to pray about, do get in touch.

take care,

Simon
