HARVEST WEEKEND OF 5TH – 8TH OCTOBER

  • Friday 5th Harvest Supper 7.30pm (see page 6 for more)
  • Saturday 6th to Monday 8th Flower Festival for Harvest
  • Monday 8th daytime Harvest Service at 11am

Christ Church Flower Festivals attract visitors from miles around – last time over 1000 people came to see the stunning flower arrangements with a message of hope.

This year the theme is ‘God will provide’. Donations will be to support Jenga in Uganda and Signpost, which offers counselling to local young people.

Start praying for the festival weekend

Begin to think who you will invite to look around and also to come to the special Harvest services on the Sunday and the daytime one at 11am on Monday morning

The church will be open for visitors on Saturday 6th October from 10am to 5pm, on Sunday 7th October from 2pm to 5pm, and on Monday 8th from 2 to 5pm

VISITING – WE NEED YOUR HELP!

At least 30 people are needed to visit houses in the parish in pairs and another 30 or more people to drop invitation cards through letter boxes. We aim to distribute over 1,000 invitations.

The visiting morning is Saturday 29th September

The mail drops can happen at a time to suit you.

PRAYING

We also need a team of people to pray together at The Junction on Saturday 29th September anytime from 9am to noon, while the visiting pairs are calling on homes in the parish

If you can join the visiting and/or prayer teams, please contact either the Office or Geoff Marshall-Taylor (geoffmt@btinternet.com). Or please fill in a form in the foyer and put it in Geoff MT’s pigeon hole.

SPONSORING THE FLOWER FESTIVAL

If you would like to sponsor the festival flowers in the church, please let Linda Brown know ( 01923 282149.)

This might be an expression of thanks to God or in memory of someone special. The names of sponsors will be printed in the programme. As a guide, the average cost of an arrangement is £40.   Any donations gratefully appreciated.
