WHY TRADE, TEA AND TEACHING ARE THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENTS YOU CAN GIVE

Enjoy breakfast and a talk followed by a chance to buy Traidcraft products

Women’s Breakfast @ Christ Church on Saturday 18th November, 8.30am – 10am

Traidcraft teaAt a delicious breakfast for women, Christ Church member and mother of three Susie Turnbull explains how the three Ts (trade, tea and teaching) are empowering women and their families in the developing world, via the Fairtrade Foundation and their partners.

Susie’s talk promises to be both informative and entertaining. Afterwards, there will be a chance to buy and order a wide selection of Traidcraft products (including Christmas cards, chocolate and food hampers) – a wonderful way to give Christmas presents that are attractive, original and fairly traded.

When Fairtrade started selling the UK’s first fairly traded tea and coffee from a Durham college attic in 1979, it seemed revolutionary to ask that workers in the developing world should be paid a fair price and be given safe working conditions.

Yet today, the Fairtrade logo can be seen in supermarkets throughout Europe and Fairtrade organisations such as Traidcraft are helping to provide education and business training to disadvantaged communities in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

Come and find out how they do it!

Do invite your friends to this special event. Breakfast is free,  but please help the catering team by booking your places in advance with the church office or by email.
