Christ Church are privileged to have an ensemble from the renowned All Souls Orchestra perform at the church.
The concert, Prom Praise, is a mix of spiritual and concert pieces performed by an ensemble from the All Souls Orchestra
Mary Hall, our vicar’s wife, is principal cellist with All Souls Orchestra. Mary travels widely with the orchestra, performing in a range of concert halls in the UK and on the continent, including the Royal Albert Hall where Prom Praise is a sell-out annual event.
Mary trained at the Royal Academy of Music and her playing experience includes extensive playing with Moscow City Ballet, D’Oyly Carte Opera Company and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. She plays an 18th Century cello which has an evocative richness of sound.
The ensemble will be performing under the baton of their celebrated founder/conductor, Noel Tredinnick, Professor of Orchestration and Conducting at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
The soloist for the concert will be singer Geraldine Latty whose voice has more than a hint of Gospel.
During the evening, there will be a mix of concert and sacred music, combining the spirit of Songs of Praise with the enthusiasm of the Last Night of the Proms.
Tickets cost £10 (£5 for under 16s) from the Church Office. 01923 282149
