This year Christ Church is again took part in ’Thy Kingdom Come’, the prayer movement developed by the Archbishop of Canterbury which invites people around the word to join leaders from Churches Together in England to join a global wave of prayer.
Three evenings of creative prayer (7.45-9pm):
Tuesday 30th May – pastoral prayers with a particular focus on the elderly, those who are sick, carers and the local care homes.
This included a multi-sensory experience reflecting ‘Life’s Path’.
Wednesday 31st May – praying for our local community including businesses and charitable organisations, many of which use the Junction.
Thursday 1st June – children and young people and our local schools, bearing in mind particularly that we are fast approaching the exam season.
The church was open for prayer (6.30am – 9.30pm) with displays focussed on the words of the Lord’s Prayer.
Many of us also signed up to receive a daily reflection and prayer email for this brief period by visiting the Thy Kingdom Come website (https://www.thykingdomcome.global/) and opting to ‘Pledge2Pray’
