Chosen by God

v.14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings – and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.

This is a reassuring verse amongst so many verses that refer to destruction. Here we are reminded that although many will make war against the Lamb – i.e. Jesus – Jesus will be victorious. Alongside the victorious Jesus will be his ‘called, chosen and faithful followers’. What an amazing description of how Jesus views his followers.

Let us remember that we are Jesus’ ‘called, chosen and faithful followers’ and that he is victorious. Sometimes it can be a struggle to believe that this is our identity in Christ and it can be even harder to live out our faith in difficult situations. Let us endeavour to remain faithful followers each and every day.

Dear Jesus, thank you that you have called and chosen me. Please strengthen me and help me to be faithful to you even when to do so is a real challenge. Help me to remember that you are victorious over everything and through this please give me your courage and peace. Amen.
