Jesus, be the centre
v.15 Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.
In this passage the seven angels pour out the bowls of God’s wrath on the earth and it is not a pretty sight. In this verse there is a brief reminder to be ready for the day that the Lord returns. When we wait a long time for things it is easy to become distracted and begin to focus our attention on other things. Let us keep going and remember that the day will come when Jesus will return.
There may be things in our lives that distract us from following God whole-heartedly. Let us ask God to highlight these to us and, by the power of his Holy Spirit, to enable us to put Jesus in the centre of our lives.
Dear God, I am sorry for the times that I am distracted from whole-heartedly following you. Please enable me by your Holy Spirit to put Jesus in the centre of all that I do and say. Please help me to be ready when you return. Amen.
