David Hall 28th October

Dear friends

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness. Come into his presence with singing!” (Psalm 100 v1-2)

I am delighted to say that we are now in a position as a church family to begin to explore a possible additional morning service on Sundays.  The service would have the target start time of 12.00 and the style would be “stripped back” to a substantial contemporary opening worship set, reading and talk, within one-hour format.   Pastries would be served at the start, and the current plan is for the worship to be open to all ages, with children leaving for their specific programme towards the end of the opening worship session.

A 12.00 service would enable us to offer a complete range of worship styles on a Sunday morning. We are greatly encouraged by the health and vitality of the 8.30 and 10.30am services, along with the successful Café Church innovation.  These services, along with the 6.30pm service, will remain largely unchanged.  Some who serve within the 10.30am service, perhaps in the children’s work, may even feel that this additional service gives them a chance to hear the talk they missed, and also enjoy a time of refreshment and worship for themselves before heading home.

The proposed start date of the new service is Sunday 13 January, running to Easter on a trial basis, allowing us to assess its level of support and the viability of its resourcing.  In the meantime, do feel free to chat to either myself or one of the wardens with any questions or comments you may have.  Please pray that we might know the Lord’s leading in this matter, as we look to his future blessing at this exciting time in the life of our church family.

Yours in Christ
