After a stressful week of worrying about what the future holds for me and what my next steps will be, a very wise member of the congregation spoke to me and all my worries were swept away.
God has called me to Christ Church and God will call me to the next step of my journey whether this is in ministry, theology college or wherever God decides. I was told how often our bodies live in the now but our heads live in the future, worrying about what’s to come or in the past regretting thing we’ve done. We need to live in the now and embrace every moment. God calls us to places and situations for a reason. We don’t always know why it’s necessary but he does, he knows the bigger picture and he’s got it all under control.
This conversation really inspired me to stop looking at things seven months ahead of me and start living at this time of this day and see what God has in store for me.
‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.’ Proverbs 19v21
Do we try to plan how we want our life to go? Are we reluctant to dream big because we fear failure? God is there, he is always working in us and around us. If you take a wrong turn on your journey he will re-route you. He knows our final destination and with his grace he will carry us there. Put your trust in God and he will deliver.
When you hear God nudging you to do something this week trust him and see what happens..
