STAFF TEAM UPDATE

christ church rainbowWhile September tends to be a time of welcomes, sadly the summer tends to be a time of goodbyes. I am sorry to say that Debbie Bloomfield (Junction Manager) will be leaving to take up a new appointment as Schools Business Developer at Chorleywood Bookshop in September and Emma Hulme (Administrator) will be leaving to take up the post of School Administrator at Chenies School on 5th September.  We will be very sorry to lose Debbie and Emma but give thanks to God for their hugely faithful service of the church family and community here at Christ Church.  As you know, Holly Draper (Children’s Minister) is also preparing to take-up a new appointment in children’s ministry at the Chanctonbury Churches benefice from the beginning of September. We will ensure that administrative and children’s ministry cover is maintained, recruiting immediately and announcing new appointments as they are made.

We are looking forward to the arrival of Ben Holbrook who will be joining us as Worship and Youth Minister (14-18 yrs) on 1st September.  Also, with our wonderful interns Brianna Ricciardo, Amie Ramsden and Melissa Barker completing their internships, at the beginning of September we look forward to welcoming two new interns Josh Besley and Daniel Robson, and are currently recruiting to fill the third internship place.

On the clergy front, we rejoice with our curates Jacob Harrison and Terence Russoff, as, following their priesting, they not only add presiding at Holy Communion and weddings to their responsibilities here at Christ Church, but assist other parishes in the deanery, as the need arises.

Recognising that this is a season of change and opportunity, I think it will be really helpful to seek the Lord’s face in prayer at short special prayer times which will be held throughout the summer in The Point from 12.00-12.15pm each Sunday morning from this Sunday 8th July to 2nd September. The whole discernment and recruitment process which resulted in Ben Holbrook’s appointment was wonderfully blessed through prayer, so I warmly encourage as many of you as are able to pop in for prayer between those times as we look to the future.

I know you will join me in giving thanks to God for the huge contribution of those members of our staff team who are going on to new challenges, as well as praying for and preparing to welcome new staff team members joining us in September.

Yours in Christ – David Hall
